Why Plant-Based?

And God said, “Behold, I have given you every plant yielding seed that is on the face of all the earth, and every tree with seed in its fruit. You shall have them for food.

In regards to the recent pandemic, research shows that those with a plant-based diet has the lowest risk of infection of moderate-severe COVID-19. This alone speaks volumes on how much stronger our immune system is when we are on a consistent alkaline plant-based diet.

Generally, most people know the content of certain foods is important to note. They measure the grams of a certain nutrient and go with the higher in value. But we should not stop there. Once consumed, our body does not always utilized all of the grams of nutrients. Animal proteins create situation of acidosis, and to compensate, it leaches calcium from our bones. The calcium acts as a neutralizer. This can deplete our calcium reserve. It is no wonder the USA has the highest rate of dairy consumption, yet also top in rate of Osteoporosis.

Common Thinking

- meat or animal products contain high amounts of nutrients so this must be nourishing

Issue with that

- digestion! it is harder to digest and can overwork the system, disrupting the gut biome

- contains other things like harmful saturated fats

- just because a plant or meat contains certain things that the body needs, does not mean it will breakdown and absorb by our bodies in a healthy manner

Meat & Dairy Facts

  • meat protein breakdown causes acidosis which depletes our calcium giving rise to chronic disease like osteoporosis to name one

  • higher levels of calcium in meats signals body to produce less calcitrol, and this in turn reduces calcium absorption

  • causes bioamplification (also known as biomagnification): in their bodies, animals can increase the concentration of pesticides and toxins from the environment

  • source of high lipopolysaccharides: potent inflammatory toxin (endotoxin)!

  • can house and nurture disease causing virus

  • saturated fat: high in arachadonic acid (Omega-6) which when very high is harmful, and inflammatory mediators

***Arachadonic Acid: known to cause neurotoxicity and cause Alzheimer’s disease
