the way it is naturally supposed to be, has many health benefits! High in mineral content, it not only adds flavor, but can be a source of nutrition. Nevertheless, it should be used sparingly for balance. The best three types of salt with lower sodium higher mineral are celtic salt, real salt, and himalayan pink salt. Amongst these, Celtic Salt is the winner.

The table below shows a comparison between table salt, Maldon salt (a typical sea salt), Himalayan salt and Celtic salt:
As you can see, Celtic salt has the least amount of sodium and the highest amount of calcium and magnesium. Himalayan salt contains a bit of potassium.

Our missionary experience
While coaching members with auto-immune diseases, our missionary health coaches have come across swelling and flare-ups with Pink Himalayan Salt in some cases. It appears due to the popularity of the pink salt, much of it is mined from the surface which reduces the price, while the true pure mineral salt is supposed to be mined from 5000 ft deep. The surface salt tends to contain more impurities. Careful selection of the properly mined salt will be important. Celtic Salt also has been sources from the oceans other than the French coast, i.e. South America. Mineral content can therefore vary based on the source. Real Salt appears exclusively mined from the underground ancient salt deposits of Utah.
