Indigestion and Gas

  • Fast

    Fasting when the tummy is upset is commonly practiced. Our bodies tell us it must first empty what is there to make it feel better. Over-exerting during indigestion will cause symptoms to worsen.

  • Walk

    No uphill, no overexertion, just walk at a steady pace for 30mins to 1-hour. If you can, walk near the water, trees, where the air is fresh. You may feel the relief more and more as the time passes by.

  • No Liquid

    Refrain from drinking liquid until the digestion is done. Drinking more liquid will slow the digestion and burden the system further. Let the food pass through before rehydrating.

Constipation

  • Fast

    More food going down will back up the system further. Fast until everything passes through.

  • Walk

    Movement of the whole body without overexerting promotes healthy bowel movement.

  • Drink Water

    Hydrating is key to helping alleviate constipation.

Water Therapy:

Natural remedies must be understood well. Remedies are but ‘aids’. The bulk of the fighting is being done by our own immune system. Water Therapy or Hydrothermal Therapy can promote circulation in the body. It can stimulate or it can relax.

 

Hot FOOT BATH :

Prepare

  • water as hot as you can take in bucket or pale

Method

  • Lie or sit in relaxed position

  • Dip feet

  • Begin Tummy Compresses

Traditional Hydrotherapy

Tummy COMPRESSES:

Prepare

  • bucket of hot water & several larger towels (or thermofore moist heat pad)

  • bucket of ice water & two medium or small towels

Method

If need to stimulate:

  • Hot Moist Heat: Towel or Moist Heat Compress(Thermofore) - 3min over back and tummy

    • If use towel, can layer plastic, then another towel to trap heat.

  • Change to Cold Towel or Compress briskly

  • Wipe Dry !

  • Repeat 3x

  • REST, Hydrate with water

If need to relax or calm:

  • Warm Moist Heat: Towel or Moist Heat Compress(Thermofore) - 6-10min over back and tummy

    • If use towel, can layer plastic, then another towel to trap heat.

  • No cold, just cool off naturally after taking off the compress if want to repeat.

  • Wipe Dry !

  • Can repeat 3x-7x as needed.

  • REST, Hydrate with water

On the Head:

Prepare (when no tub)

  • use the cold bucket and small towel

  • keep heat cool

  • can place cool towel over sinus and neck as well

Digestive Aids

  • Olive Oil & Charcoal - a dexotifying laxative

    • 3/4 spoon of Extra Virgin Olive Oil

    • 1/4 spoon of Activated Charcoal Powder (hardwood or coconut)

    • 1-drop Eucalyptus Oil

    • Mix

    • Take

  • Activated Charcoal-Ginger Drink - de-gas remedy

    • 1 tsp-tbsp activated coconut or hardwood charcoal powder

    • 1 tsp-tbsp ginger powder (helps reduce constipation from charcoal, adds zinc)

    • 1/2 - 1 cup warm water or room temperature

      • be sure enough water for the drink to be thin.

    • Mix: drink in empty stomach if possible!

Anti-inflammatory Essential Oils

  • Oregano Oil

    Spicy and Strong (must be pure)

    Methods:

    STEAM INHALATION

    • 2 drops EO on spoon or in boiling water

    • If Spoon, Dip into boiled water and inhale over the spoon

    • If In Water, inhale over the boiling water (1-2cups) : best if cover over head and steam with a sheet

    • Inhale gently the infused steam for 5-10mins

    • *Prevention 1-2x/day

    • *When Sick, every 2 hours

      *pregnancy, use whole leaves only

    Very strong, best to avoid oral consumption

  • Eucalyptus Oil

    Refreshing Scent

    Methods:

    STEAM INHALATION
